Hey! I'm Kett

I’m a writer, cartoonist, illustrator, podcaster, and part time comics professor! 

I grew up in Westchester, New York (home of the X-Men!) but sadly failed to develop any mutant powers. After that initial disappointment I went on to study Illustration and Cartooning at the School of Visual Arts in NYC; and after years of punk rock adventures in Brooklyn and Philly, relocated to the west coast where I received my MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts in 2013.

My work has appeared in print and on the web in places like Razorcake, SF Weekly, Maximum Rock N' Roll, Travel Portland, and the As You Were punk comix anthology. My first full length graphic novel collaboration with writer Lacy Davis, Ink In Water debuted October of 2017 from New Harbinger Publications. 

I celebrate comics in all shapes and forms. My work runs the gamut from serious minded memoir to playful fantasy, with many stories and pictures that fall somewhere in-between. 

My excitement for storytelling extends past the comics page. I also produce and cohost two podcasts, Galaktacus and Adult Crash.

I love bringing my passion for comics to the classroom. I’ve taught undergraduate courses at Dominican University of California and Oregon College of Art and Craft as well as a graduate studio courses for the MFA in Comics program at the California College of Arts.

I currently live in Portland, Oregon with my doggo/muppet Tortellini.
